Oil Pastel among the Winners of The Art Guild’s 2017 high school Student Exhibition

The Art Guild at Elderfields has announce the winners of the Annual Nassau County Student Exhibition and Competition. First place was awarded to Christina Mui a junior from Valley Stream Central, for her highly detailed colored pencil painting, “Ceci & Penny.”A portrait in pencil, “Kemuri,” by senior Charlee Lopez, from Oceanside, was awarded second place. Senior Erin Hogarty of Wantagh High School received third place for her oil pastel painting, “Summer Harvest.”


Submissions from high school students came from both public and private schools throughout Nassau County. From those entries, 56 works of art were selected for the exhibit. Bennett Horowitz, a retired instructor from the High School of Art and Design, NYC served as juror of awards.
